We spent the morning chatting with Manjas Aunt and her family before eventually packing up and heading to Manjas cousins place in Remagen. The weather was utterly perfect for the convertible again, so we drove over with the roof down and grins on our faces.

We arrived just in time for lunch, after which we headed down to the river-side for some ice-cream and skipping small rocks on the water….  which the kids turned into an experiment with a thesis of  “What’s the largest rock Simon can throw into the water?”

As we were only there for the day, we were invited to a children’s birthday party with a princess theme. Unfortunately I wasn’t traveling with costumes, so I had to go as myself which was most unusual for me at a costume party!

We stuck around for about an hour before we headed back for an evening BBQ and great conversation over a game of cards. By the time we thought about bed, the sun had well and truly set.
