On Saturday I rode across to Manjas home town to meet up with some friends and family of hers, and to give her a lift back given I was going the way anyway. We managed to time it well to avoid getting rained on for the ride home, and got another pretty sunset on the Autobahn. I was totally beat that day, and dropped into bed early.
Sunday I headed to Ilkas garden, still pretty sore and tired. We pumped up the pool (because I finally remembered to bring the pump!) and they chilled in the pool while I dozed the day away in the sun.  Then there was this delicious salad for dinner and we even got to leave with some produce – Grapes and cucumbers!

Monday and Tuesday were quite quiet days – Planned in for recovery.  I did do a touch of shopping for a few jam-jars and stumbled across an awesome playground.  I also caught up with Manja to make a whole lot of “Apfelmus” (rough Apple-sauce) out of some of Ilkas apples. We also dropped by Ikea to pick up a shelf for her Kitchen which I built and mounted. Generally all super-chilled days. Oh! And at some point I walked past this awesome playground in the middle of some apartment buildings….  I love Berlin!
Cool playground

Wednesday Manja had arranged tickets to a Gisbert zu Knyphausen concert, so we headed there in the evening.  It was great!  A bit Passenger-like in terms of lyrics, but in German.

The remainder of the week was more chilling and recovering. My right hand was barely usable throughout the week and is slowly recovering. Turns out long motorbike trips (at least on this bike) really injure my hand to the point of not being able to apply any strength. I’m learning to use my left a lot more though! 😛

For the weekend I had suggested another wellness retreat, and Manja found the Fontane Therme. I had intended to have a massage – focusing on my arm and hand – but failed to book it early enough. None the less it was extremely relaxing and nice. We also had “The best ice-cream in Germany” according to Manja, at a little store nearby in Neuruppin.  I have to say she wasn’t wrong – It was super flavoursome, presumably made with more raw ingredients than your average ice-cream. Still super fluffy though; so pretty much perfect.  After ice-cream we had a stroll along the riverside before settling down for an awesome dinner.

Sunday we headed back to Ilkas garden, and this time I got seriously involved in the war on hops – dining out a arm-sized root in the front-yard to try and free the fence.
